About this map

ROMP is leading a special project to develop a global map of prosthetic care providers that serve access-limited people with amputation. Currently, the few online 'global' lists of providers that exist are outdated, incomplete, or both. On a daily basis, ROMP receives requests from people from around the world who cannot easily find information on prosthetic care providers in their country. To address this issue, we are developing an interactive, online map with updated information that is being collected through online research and key informants. Users are able to visit the webpage, click on their country, and see profiles of providers. This map will be updated on an ongoing basis as long as new information is received by ROMP. To date ROMP has consulted the existing lists of the Digital Resource Foundation for the Orthotics & Prosthetics Community and the Amputee Coalition of America, and consulted with Penta Medical Recycling and numerous individuals to spread the word about this project.
